Ross Sly

Director

With over 20 years of legal experience, I provide practical, results-driven advice across a wide range of legal matters — including property transactions (residential, rural, and commercial), business sales and purchases, commercial leasing, contracts, general commercial advice, trusts, and Wills.

Clients value my straightforward, honest approach and ability to explain legal complexities in clear, consise terms. I’m hands-on, responsive, and committed to making legal processes as smooth and stress-free as possible. Whether you're navigating a business deal, life decision, or planning for the future, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

I pride myself on being highly accessible to my clients — I understand that legal issues don’t always arise during business hours. I’m available by phone, email, or message, including evenings and weekends, whenever needed.

I also work with a trusted network of professionals — including lawyers, accountants, mortgage brokers, and surveyors — to ensure you get the right support if your matter requires broader expertise.

Outside of work, I enjoy the gym, football, and anything by the sea.

Sonya Stoppard

Practice Manager and Trust Accountant

For 14 years, my husband and I successfully ran our own roofing company, where I managed all the financial aspects of the business. When my husband was offered an exciting new employment opportunity, we made the decision to close our business doors in February 2022.

I joined Blackhawk Law in 2022 as Practice Manager, and relish the variety that this role brings.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, hiking, fishing, hitting the gym, gardening, and travelling.
